Maybe until after the Resurrection ...
I like the word "hiatus." It looks good. It sounds good. It gives the impression that it's just a temporary pause, that you'll be coming back, and probably sooner rather than later. So I'm using the word "hiatus" to-day instead of "giving up" when I describe my writing plans. I've got to get my sleeping problems under control and reclaim my brain from the woolly depths of sleep deprivation. No doubt I sound like a hypochondriac, but lately, I've been feeling like I have chronic fatigue syndrome without the accompanying pain. I sleep, but I still wake up exhausted. I already know I have a touch of sleep apnea, though not bad enough for a CPAP, at least according to the doctor. And I could well be entering menopause, which can also cause sleep disorders. I've tried to lose weight to help reduce the symptoms, but it's hard when all you can think about is going back to bed (and when you're addicted to chocolate anyway.) I just barely manage to get through the day, and I certainly can't concentrate on much of anything. Writing? I feel like my writing talent is dead and buried, a distant memory now. But I'm not giving up, I'm just on hiatus.
Maybe until after the Resurrection ...
